I heard on the news today that the last living Canadian WWI veteran passed away today. Realistically, their era has been over for some time, but I can't help but be saddened by this happening.

It's hard to imagine how much living the last veteran did, to come from horse and carriage, to prohibition, to the holocaust, to cold war, then to modern communications and science.

Cheers!

As the CBC news article stated: "It is believed that he was the last Canadian World War I veteran to have seen action, having fought on the front line." That's pretty amazing to have lived so long, considering what he endured in the conditions of the battlefields of that time.

There are now only 4 Canadian veterans of the First World War still living.
